Mr. Porter has successfully tried wrongful death, catastrophic personal injury, insurance coverage, and commercial disputes. Mr. Porter also serves as an arbitrator, mediator, and expert witness within these practice areas.

Mr. Porter is an active boater, having owned both sail and power-driven vessels for more than 20 years. He has litigated numerous matters involving the international and inland nautical "Rules of the Road." 

From his Costa Mesa office, Mr. Porter handles matters throughout California, with his primary practice in Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Ventura, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties.  His maritime practice involves claims and disputes from San Diego Bay, Mission Bay, Oceanside Harbor, Dana Point Harbor, Newport Harbor, Huntington Harbor, Alamitos Bay Marina, Shoreline Marina, Cabrillo Marina, Redondo Beach Marina, Marina del Rey, Catalina Island, the Channel Islands, the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, the Colorado River, and other marinas, harbors, and waterways.
